Worst Machines I ever owned

We bought a washer & dryer. I called Maytag last year both the washer dryer were tangling so much. I read your guide for both front & back. This pair of appliance that we bought are the most horrible pair. Nothing I do works well. Sick of the tangling. If I could sell the pair jI would. I called Maytag and they sent out a service guy who never touch my machine ( and Maytag girl on the phone never told me about service price. So this man came and just stood in front of my machine and talk about it. When he told me if he touch the machine I would have to pay service call. I sent him out of my house. He did nothing. Then Maytag sent me an invoice to pay for his service. There was no service and I didnt pay the invoice`. How can you charge when the service man does nothing!! Any way I am so fustrated with both machines and I would never tell anyone to buy a Maytag. Kathleen

I bought this product 5 months ago and have never bought such an awful appliance in my whole life. 1. The washer does NOT allow enough water to even begin to clean the clothes. I have had to start using Liquid detergent because often there wasn't enough water to dissolve the detergent or melt the plastic on a detergent pods. Sometimes places on the clothes are dry when taken from the washer. 2. Spots are NEVER removed nor are any tough dirt spots. 3. You can't add clothes to the cycle once it starts unless you wait forever to unlock the lid. You can't change anything on the cycle once it starts. 4. It takes FOREVER to do a load of laundry. Today the load took 1 hour and 47 minutes. For the brilliant inventors who came up with this water saving device, they forgot how much more electricity I use to do a load in more than double the time of my old washer. 5. Tried to get help from the online service. That is a joke also. I could go on and on about the awful features of Maytag. Most worthless item ever purchased. I would give it a way worse rating than 1 if I could, for it is worse than poor. Will NEVER purchase Maytag again and so sorry I did this time.

Terrible! Stay away!

I bought this model in November 2018 and have had problems with it from the start. At the end of the cycle my clothes come out with residue from the detergent and/or fabric softener, and the clothes is not clean. My clothes also has stains on it that look similar to grease stains. During the wash cycle the clothes stays in the same place almost the entire wash. Several times the fabric softener has failed to dispense and I make sure to select "fabric softener" on the machine. If you are facing the machine, the left front leg area occasionally has water all around it. I know for certain that it is not operator error because I read the entire manual before using the machine and about three more times since. The only way the this machine works half decent is if I select "deep fill" and "extra rinse and spin" on every load, but that extends the cycle time significantly and uses more water. I bought this machine and the matching dryer so that I would not have to do as many loads of laundry and it has proven to be a huge waste of money! It seems to me that the machine is poorly made and I do not recommend for anyone to buy this model, the dryer, however, works great.

Ruins new clothes

I bought this machine a couple of months ago. I thought that my new washer should be getting my clothes cleaner than my old machine. How dare Maytag tell me how much water I can use to wash clothes, even on DEEP FILL my machine does not fill up. I have used every cycle with the same results. I can only wash four towels at a time, are you kidding me? Why have a big tub capacity when you cannot use all of it? Direct Drive?? Put the old transmission back on them and stop the tub from moving. WE WORK HARD AND PLAY HARDER WE NEED CLEAN CLOTHES, My clothes still smell dirty after using Tide Pods and Downy Unstoppable pellets. My cotton is pilling badly on brand new clothes that I washed before I ware. This machine should not have the tub turning at all, the clothes just to rub against it, my clothes sits in one spot the whole wash cycle. Bottom clothes take the worst of it, top clothes don't hardly get wet. I am so mad at Maytag/Whirlpool and Samsung all made in Mexico or China. How dare you put Made in the USA quality on your products. There needs to be a recall on these. This is the second HE machine in my house, the first one got replaced with this one a few days later, because the first one made such a loud noise and didn't fill will water enough to do anything. WHERE IS THE ENERGY STAR ON THIS MACHINE? It should not take 90 minutes to wash a 1/4 size of a load. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM MAYTAG! Your customer service sucks! I was told to deal with it, that's the way it is with Maytag!

Doesn't clean well!!!

We bought the top of the line top-loading washer and even on deep fill it doesn't give enough water to even cover the clothes, so they just sit on top dry. We bought one with an agitator thinking it would pull the clothes down, but it only goes back and forth instead of all the way around, so it doesn't pull the clothes down. They just sit there on top of the water and go back and forth a little bit! Such a disappointment and a lot of money wasted!!!!!!!!

It doesn't move the clothes like it should

It doesn't move the clothes in the drum like it should. Maytag you dropped the ball on this Washer. Its a really good looking unit but the agitator does not move the clothes in the drum like my old unit did. To have it move in a clockwise motion from 12 o'clock position to 12 then back to 12 is not smart. It can't get the clothes in a full rotation. This is why you buy a washer with a agitator......To move the clothes around not just up and down a few inches around the agitator!! Before it went to rinse I stopped it and I opened the lid and had a shock that wasn't even wet yet???? I tried power wash, I tried whites setting and that agitator movement is a joke. Go back to the oldschool setting and keep it going around in a circle not just back and forth. Don't tell me I have to roll my clothes in a ball and put them next to the agitator REALLY? You should be able to put your clothes in like any other normal washer and it should do it's job. Very disappointed with your product!!

We are so pleased with our new Maytag washer. Maytag has been a member of our appliance family for many, many years and have never been disappointed with their reliability. This washer replaced our Neptune for larger load capability. It is quiet and provides excellent cleaning of our most heavy loads. Very pleased!

False/misleading advertisement

In the video ad for this machine, it shows the tub full of water, (deep fill) and substantial agitation. However, the ONLY cycle that provides this is the "Bedding" cycle. Now, the manual clearly states that "deep fill" is not available in the "normal" cycle, yet the button to select "deep fill" lights up as though you will get this in "normal"; it also lights up if you select it and the machine is in the "whites" cycle, as well as the "power wash" cycle; yet the tub does not "deep fill"! Now, let's talk about "agitation" or rather the lack of it. The only cycle that provides adequate agitation is the "bedding" cycle. In that mode, the agitator turns back and forth very rapidly; it appears to be moving almost 720 degrees, or two complete turns in both directions. In every other mode, it turns at about 1/2 the speed, and only 360 degrees; so very little agitation. I will say that in the "bedding" mode, our clothes seem to be very clean. As for recommending this machine, I probably would decline to do so.

At 6.0 Cu. Ft. This thing is a monster. It is everything you imagine and then some. The agitator does a great job. The thing fills up a lot in "Deep Fill" mode. King Size Comforters fit and then some (photo of king size comforter attached). This washing machine has been exceptional.

Large, quiet, exceptional washing machine

Had a front loader for way too long. Did a lot of research before purchasing this Maytag. We love it. Very user friendly controls. Our clothes come our so clean. With the the actual agitator, it does a great job. Love that it does such large loads or smaller loads. We can make it deep fill just to be sure. With the clear lid, we all kind of like watching it. Lol. We couldn't be happier with this purchase. Highly recommend.

I bought this unit about 20 months ago it worked well for about 11 months then the main board went out and would not not power on any more I got it fixed under warranty and everything has been good until tonight when I went to wash my clothes and it would not power on so I guess I'm gonna have to pay to fix it this time or pony up big bucks for a new washer so I don't have to keep fixing this one

Absolutely loved it until as many as three loads I had to put on (rinse & spin) this sat week because the clothes were still soaked. One load was a small load as well. Ive had the washer for no more than two weeks.

I wanted a large capacity dryer so I could do bedding and large bulky loads at home. This washer is perfect! It cleans my husbands work clothes great and all my laundry is clean and fresh, I may not recommend this for short people, I am 5'6" and can barely reach the bottom of the washer

What a large and deep beautiful washing machine for the home! I was so excited to get it, and did a giant load that would have been 3 large loads in a regular machine. Love that they kept the agitator. It makes cute noises for each feature selected, and chothes came out so clean and it took me half the time to dry them! Thank you Maytag!!!!

Really easy and great features.

We've had this about a month and have been more and more impressed as we use it. Not only does it look great, but it has the features controls and easy use we like so much in appliances. When you look into the washer you can think of terms like cavernous. It was easy to install with no problems and has run great since then. In other words we enjoy things that do what they are supposed to do with no worry or bother. I have a feeling this will be with us for awhile. Now about that dryer......

This washing machine is terrible, does not clean clothes. My old machine did great, but we wanted something bigger, little did we know that it would not even come close to the cleanliness of our old one. Trying to figure out how to return and get something different. Definitely do not recommend this machine.

Great size, less cleaning

We just received this washer, and ran the first laundry through it. The size it great, but the cleaning power is greatly reduced from our old agitator washer that was 11 years old. My wife is still deciding whether we are going to keep it or return it.

Maytag Washer

The day it was delivered and installed my wife put a small load of cloths in to wash. When the wash cycle reached the spin cycle, the washer started to rock and walk damaging my water faucets in the process. I check the level and found that the installers hadn't leveled the washer, so following the instruction guide I leveled the washer, and fixed the faucets. I then ran the washer through a no load test, and it continued to rock back and forth. I contacted Costco, where I purchased the washer, and they connected me with Via Factory, a licensed Whirlpool repair company. After a week the mechanic arrived at our home, and noticed that the drum was off kilter. They dismantled the washer, and found a plastic spring had broken. This plastic spring held the drum level, and was the cause of the rocking and walking. The mechanic showed us the part, and in a condescending tone, told us not to over load the washer. We explained we hadn't, but he did not believe us. He went on to inform us that even though the washer has a 6 Cubic Foot drum we should only load it 1/3 tp 1/2 way with laundry. So, I now have a LARGE 6 cubic foot washer, that can only handle 2 to 3 cubic foot of laundry. Save your money buy a smaller cheaper washer, because this washer is slated to go back if I have any more issues with it. I am very disappointed.
